Multicomponent gauge-Higgs models with discrete Abelian gauge groups

چکیده

We consider a variant of the charge-Q compact Abelian-Higgs model, in which an Nf-dimensional complex vector is coupled with Abelian Z_q gauge field. For Nf=2 and Q=1 we observe several transition lines that belong to O(4), O(3), O(2) universality classes, depending on symmetry breaking pattern at transition. The class independent $q$ as long q>=3. uniquely determined by behavior scalar fields; fields do not play any role. also investigate system for Nf=15 Q=2. In presence U(1) fields, undergoes transitions associated charged fixed points field theory. These continuous turn into first-order ones when are replaced discrete fields: present model appear be very sensitive nature

Non-abelian discrete gauge symmetries and inflation

Obtaining a potential flat enough to provide slow roll inflation is often difficult when gravitational effects are included. Nonabelian discrete gauge symmetries can guarantee the flatness of the inflaton potential in this case, and also provide special field values where inflation can end. Maximal Supersymmetry and Non-abelian Gauge Groups

I review recent progress in the construction and classification of maximally supersymmetric theories with non-abelian gauge groups. The algebraic framework is based on the underlying exceptional symmetry groups. This has applications for supergravity theories describing flux compactifications as well as for the recently constructed three-dimensional superconformal theories describing the dynami...

Non-Abelian Chern-Simons vortices with generic gauge groups

We study non-Abelian Chern-Simon BPS-saturated vortices enjoying N = 2 supersymmetry in d = 2 + 1 dimensions, with generic gauge groups of the form U(1) × G, with G being a simple group, allowing for orientational modes in the solutions. We will keep the group as general as possible and utilizing the powerful moduli matrix formalism to provide the moduli spaces of vortices and derive the corres...

Unification in models with replicated gauge groups

We examine unification of gauge couplings in four dimensional renormalizable gauge theories inspired by the latticized (deconstructed) SM or MSSM in five dimensions. The models are based on replicated gauge groups, spontaneously broken to the diagonal subgroup. The analysis is performed at one-loop level, with the contribution from the heavy vector bosons included, and compared with the analogo...

Geometric Algorithm for Abelian-Gauge Models

Motivated by the sign problem in several systems, we have developed a geometric simulation algorithm, based on the strong coupling expansion, which can be applied to abelian pure gauge models. We have studied the algorithm in the U(1) model in 3 and 4 dimensions, and seen that it is practical and is similarly efficient to the standard heat-bath algorithm, but without the ergodicity problems whi...
